European Cities

The history, architecture and vibrant culture of Europe are concentrated in its wonderful cities.

Here are four of them.

Tblisi – Georgia

I was genuinely impressed by this small capital city at the corner of Europe. It was quirky, elegant, and charming. But what really got me was just how affordable everything was, so I made a video and called it Backpacking Like a Billionaire.

Come for a wander round the back streets. We might find some hidden gems.

Budapest – Hungary

This video shows a whirlwind one-day tour of this great city on the Danube. I also recommend the very efficient BudapestGO app. You can download it here.

Follow me as I get lost and found in this gorgeous European capital.

London – UK

Another quick blast around an iconic metropolis. This time, accompanied by my daughter. We followed The Jubilee Walk on the Go Jauntly app. You can download it here.

Berlin – Germany

Before the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, the city (and the country) was sliced in two. I saw the wall before it came down, and it had a lasting effect on me. I couldn’t cross to East Berlin in 1987, but many years later I made a pilgrimage to a place I had looked at but never visited.

I called this video The Girls Over the Berlin Wall – 37 years later
