I have a habit of skimping on the research before visiting a place.
One advantage of this is that I frequently find myself pleasantly surprised.
Retrospective research reveals that it still gets called Bombay, and it is the financial powerhouse of India as well as the home to the mighty Bollywood film industry.
My memories of our all-too-brief visit to Mumbai are of long, leisurely strolls and gorgeous facades.
